</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">James just got a package in the mail from Grammy in Tucson. She sent him some cute pants with lizards on them to match the shoes she found him (they also have lizards on the front.) She also sewed a bit of the fabric on the front pocket of this t-shirt. It was a great outfit for the park!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Check out some videos of him at the park on youtube!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

1. We found it was a lot easier to record videos on our photo-camera and post them on youtube. It takes several minutes instead of several weeks. If you are interested, you can see my channel on youtube, called "Annabosen" where there are a handful of short, sweet videos of James.<br />
<br />
This summer has turned out to be full of busy things!<br />
Garrick just finished a week-long Suzuki Method training camp, has a concert coming up in Colorado, a week long gig in Park City, and is busy building up his private studio.<br />
I have also been busy getting ready to teach Chinese at BYU's STARTALK camp for high school kids. I'm also applying to get a teaching certificate in Utah so I can apply for a Chinese teaching job if I can find one that is not full time and close to home.<br />
James is growing like a weed, getting rashes, learning to talk, avoiding learning to walk, but sure is being a little ball of energy. Lucky for us he is still a pretty easy kid to take care of. He likes his nap, sleeps like a log through the night, and is quite good at entertaining himself as long as he has something interesting to get into.<br />
<br />
In the beginning of June, right around when cousin Amelia was born, James learned his first word: "uh-oh!"<br />
He uses it correctly most of the time, but still seems to think that it's right to say it as he is throwing something on the ground.<br />
*Note: I suppose "dada" should really be his first word, but he still says dada when he talks to me, to his toys, and at other happy occasions. He also sometimes looks at me pleadingly and says "Mum! Mum! Mum!" "Uh-oh" is still the first word he consistently uses in the right situation, and really seems to grasp the concept.<br />
His next word was "doggie" (which actually sounds a lot like "daddie," but we'll give him credit for it.) He is positively tickled when he sees a dog - and laughs out loud when John and Erika's dog CJ licks his sticky baby hands. We have several baby books with pictures of animals, and their names in Chinese and English, and when he gets to the page with the dog, he talks to it, smiles at it, touches it. I thought he wouldn't really be able to tell the difference between a dog and, say, a lion, but that page with the dog really does get more attention than any other animal. It is the same with the Brown Bear book. Garrick said today that we're probably going to have to get a dog at some point in our lives because of James...<br />
<br />
Now that I got started writing about James, I could write all night about him. He is so amazing and fun, and is certainly a gift from Heavenly Father to make us better people, to inspire us to make life good, and to help us love each other more. I am so grateful that he is a part of our family!!<br />

Just in the past week, he has learned to share things with us. He hands us objects, and often tries to feed us some of whatever he is eating. He is becoming better at remembering what certain objects are for, or what they do. For example, in this video, he remembers that sunglasses go on your eyes, and he likes to take them off and put them back on us.<br />
These may not seem like big things... but it really is so neat to be the first ones to witness him making each little milestone in his development.<br />
For some reason I had trouble uploading the video to this blog, so I put it on youtube. Here is a link to it.<br />

The fish were being rather devious and stealing all the bait though, so instead of the highly anticipated 4 large trout, Alex caught one small one (that we let go) and the large one pictured below. </li>

Instead of being a copy-cat, these days, he is a copy-tiger.<br /><br />Here are some videos of James trying to do things we do.<br /><br />First, James has been sticking his tongue out at the world since he was born. You can't really tell in this video, but we are sticking our tongues in and out at him and he is copying us. Often times he will do this while we are shopping or while he is crawling around on the floor exploring.<br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxma3QRt6SpDYVS3vznMBlb3gCMBaoJeu-gsiSFmoSPyW4KuaFAMFQt9QqJLsyFWC--NdE9O7ebS9eIWarHJg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br />Second, here is a video of James and Garrick playing with the top. James liked to try and grab the top's handle and it would spin in his hand. Right before we took this video, James would literally scream in delight when Garrick would rev up the top.<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dw0KxCBNXaVkefl7BaaxB5NLNcehOdwu-8btagzzYCjppm34rqKLApH5U41wqIsxRBl5MXcI6fsMa3v1wWPPg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br />This video shows some of the first voice-copying interactions we've had with James. When he was just a couple months old, he would try to imitate our lips, but then he stopped for a while. Now he is starting to imitate our sounds a little more. It's really fun!!!<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxNSJzYlStydJGgrmu31JZ91U_KSmSIeCkmPbO2aqEd0OQagI568Bg5udP-R3CgSJrCugXf8TLT5AYHVL675w' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br />Finally, here is a little sample of how James crawls now. He still seems to prefer the army-style scoot, but he crawls a lot more often. His crawl is rather interesting though... he still uses his right foot to propel himself forward - really quickly!!<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dyGqJYc7T4vks4E9hRA9ltcTXSVBtSIM4Lw_YiOdnrKJqThV-X_y5dKNRI6hLyfgaMdz_YzvbxHpoWtgbd0kw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Garrickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05303582408119069414noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792988165557793589.post-71335822128337474822011-04-13T20:22:00.000-07:002011-04-13T20:22:43.795-07:00Fishing in the afternoonThis afternoon was not too cold and nice and cloudy, so we decided to go fishing for an hour. We went to Salem Pond, a nice little lake near Spanish Fork, about a 5 minute drive from our house. We stood out on a neat little dock that had a bench and I tended James and helped watch the poles while Garrick did all the work. James thought the fish were interesting to look at - he stared at them quite curiously.<br />
<br />
He almost immediately caught a lovely little trout that we threw back because it was so tiny. Later we caught another kind of small one and a larger one that we kept. Yesterday Garrick fished at the same pond and caught two nice trout and we had them for dinner. They tasted great!!<br />

He still only army crawls, but is so fast!!<br />
He also much prefers to feed himself little bits of whatever mom and dad are eating, but is still a good boy and lets me feed him from a spoon because we are still getting baby food help from WIC. We like to do a combination of finger food and baby food at mealtimes to keep him engaged.<br />

Emily has been appointed as James' hair cutter, because when we were in Tempe for Christmas, she (and Liz and Jen and Mom) decided to trim his wispies.<br />
This time we decided to go for a more fuzzy look. She made most of the hairs on his head about 3/4 inch long so they stood up like peach fuzz. I decided it would be fun to cut his hair like this because I remembered when I was younger the cutest baby at church always had peach fuzz hair that stuck out! I have to say, it works well on James and also makes him look a bit older. It just so happened that Erika and the boys came over for a visit while this was all happening, so we had quite the crowd observing this wiggly baby getting his hair cut on the shag carpet!<br />

He is so happy and sweet!!<br />*He has two little teeth on the bottom and they are so cute to see when he opens wide. I discovered them one day when I let him chew on my knuckle! Quite a surprise!<br />*He loves to eat! He eats mixed grain cereal with fruit sauce mixed in for breakfast, and then veggies, meats, cheese and more fruit for lunch and dinner. His favorites are sweet potatoes, bananas, beef, green beans and carrots too.<br />*Our nutritionist consultant through WIC told us to try and teach him to drink from a cup, and James LOVES it. He is so cute to grab the cup in his hands and then with my help he drinks a little water. He also likes to babble into the echo-y cup.<br />*He is a super army-crawler and is amazing at changing directions, going all over the room to chase his toys and stray cheerios.<br />*He has discovered the joy of bouncing. He bounces in his johnny-jumper, his exersaucer, and on you if you stand him up on your lap.<br />*He loves to clap and babble all sorts of sounds. This week he even started to wave his hand at Grandma Taylor (though we're not sure if he's actually waving or just discovering a new way to move his hand...)<br /><br />What a great kiddo! We're so lucky to have him around making us so happy!<br />Here are some videos from the past two weeks. Rice Cereal<div><br /></div><div>James has been chewing on his hands almost non-stop this week. His face and hands are sopping wet probably 90% of the time he is awake. So, since he already had his 4-month birthday, and babies are ok to start solids between 4-6 months, we decided that it may be time to see what he thinks of a little baby cereal in his diet-<div>Here's how it went down:</div><div><br /></div><div>In one corner- a tablespoon of rice cereal warmed up with a bit of momma's milk mixed in. There is officially snow on the mountains and the leaves have been gorgeous orange! (nod to Grandpa Woods)<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>James is getting longer and bigger. We would have little talking sessions every day where I would say, "ooooo" and he would watch carefully and then make a little noise of his own. This video captures a little of this action. Make sure the volume is up because he makes an incredibly cute but quiet noise.</div><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dw-84QvSiJks1YOwFZLzAiOY8Rr7UCb-yusjphVg63hmLvGIKSGb0VtzrqibyOfJ3ooTuWBTftJiTDSvQC4eQ' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><div><br /></div><div> This movie features something James suddenly started doing a few weeks ago- making a spitting/buzzing noise. OK, OK it may not be the most exciting thing, but it is still amazing to see him suddenly figure out something new he can do. </div><div>He is on a neat play mat my aunt Erika gave him and he loves to reach for the two animals on either side, and his talking and buzzing is reserved for the monkey in the middle. He looks him straight in the eye and tells him how it is. (This next movie is kind of long, and it's all pretty similar... so feel free to only watch the first 30 seconds!!)</div><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dyxQXERNGrVSb6iwItzrRgghRFadeELwaBXvoTCFYuSJ3KZa9LzYDFA3L4eRCofrzpW3ITpIySzGEBGNrCWNg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><div><br /></div><div>And now for the best part- James finally had his first outburst of laughter and we caught that night on tape! That evening- October 1, I had the opportunity to participate in our stake's talent show. I wore my beautiful red Chinese qipao and sang a cool song I learned while studying at Middlebury. Grandma Taylor attended, but ended up walking the halls of the church trying to console James who had completely lost it. It was one if his worst crying fits EVER!! When we finally got home, James decided he was in a better mood- in fact, he started to giggle!! Pretty weird, huh? Check it out:</div><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dz-94brlztF3P6c_hlfpb9nKDi1iFpbFwX2Lmlm2WcrkB2qSjxUyxznRS_9BAiB4jJXxRocgftG-k7Nx3XJwg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><div><br /></div><div>In other great news, James rolled over from tummy to back for the first time last week on October 14th. We were in Grandma Taylor's living room, and he was having tummy time on the red, white and blue quilt Grandma Mary Bosen made when he just rolled over! It looked like an accident and he has only done it a few other times, so we're sure to see him do it more and more.</div><div><br /></div><div>Go James!</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792988165557793589.post-67508735467096394822010-09-18T20:06:00.000-07:002010-09-18T22:35:26.650-07:003 week old James catching some raysHere is a video of James around the day we moved to Utah. We were at Wildwood for a family get-together and memorial in honor of my grandpa Richard Taylor. My mom, sister Liz and I were present during this video I believe.<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dySumH4LdrUOcHUjUC-veWvOU33w3j40W3sJSHipX6_wj6BquO5wByGguTEw2hRH8QUBcP20dYa_usl3-sKlg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br />Here's another two videos from the same day. You can see his face better and get an idea of his baby skills at this point. He would look at me but had trouble following objects as they moved around. He didn't have coordination (or awareness, really,) of his hands yet either. Smiles were still pretty rare at this point too. It is really fun to see him so young, innocent and aware/awake. OH and don't forget that tongue of his!<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwW9FpNr4HbNfzw2o3sOaNcwMZMLaYGSHj8LUdP6vrYyOpUYL_AewezT7DNmbGAmmfVgVBFVoYHKBZWK2Mw4w' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzeMgT5twaSqLGSYL_TuAtSoNN7WkzFTSG6NfmZWY_WrY_kfNMS07_rrs9ayLszg5zXz_yE3DOqW8daGAGmuA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792988165557793589.post-75463658909389575772010-09-01T13:32:00.000-07:002010-09-01T13:38:46.351-07:00James Goes MobileIn this episode James begins to discovers how cool fish are. <div><br /></div><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwjBclKKnIy-3KO5iY5zxODNrtBjB59cl_XuGDZMpYlSiXsSXFqcmatgRJDM0MQJo0KnfhpTOvLCoKDVOj8JQ' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><div>Smiles, kicks, and little noises. In the morning he likes to lay in his crib and look around, kick his legs (still reminds me of the pain inflicted when he was in me!!) and make cute little gurgles. </div><div><br /></div><div>When I went to say hello after eating breakfast (the crib is right next to our kitchen table!) he started to smile at me. It wasn't the first time he smiled- the first time was when he was about a month old, but it didn't happen very often. Now that he is awake more often, we are graced by these magical little bursts of happiness. </div><div><br /></div><div>I'm not sure how it came about but ever since he was born we've been singing Baby Beluga to James. This was my sister Emily's song when she was a baby, so we really have no right to claim it for James... but apparently it makes him smile, so we're sticking with it! I only wish Emily was here to sing it with me, and to sing "You Are My Sunshine" duets with me too. I'll never forget the car ride with Emily when we sang that to James and he stopped crying and was just mesmerized. </div><div><br /></div><div>Great-grandma Taylor got the first giggle about a week ago when she said, "Are you hap-py?" to James and he burst out with one of the nicest smiles ever. He almost laughed at her too, and since then he has been testing the laughing waters. We can't wait until he bursts out in a full-blown baby giggle!!!</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwlZBZwjLFhN1K0KkLqQHfR-eEBQthsao0mjRflyrbmBHM0jMr7wwppMKJaB9NmI0lmfu3xTfQ4osN8c-qYaw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792988165557793589.post-10769986616289535682010-06-28T15:48:00.000-07:002010-06-28T16:07:30.888-07:00World Cup FanaticosGarrick and I really enjoy sporting events, especially of the worldwide flavor. We loved the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and this year we've had the chance to watch quite a bit of 2010 Fifa World Cup Soccer. ABC only broadcasts games on the weekends, but we quickly figured out that Univision broadcasts 2 games a day! One starting around 7am and the other around 11am. We've been spending our mornings on labor watch (I'm due this week!!) and doing other random tasks while watching the games.<br /><br />I managed to get the desk packed up today and Garrick made some fabulous 6-pepper salsa for the week while we watched Brazil cream Chile!!! What a fun game! We are both (but Garrick especially) improving our Spanish vocabulary thanks to Univision. And he can do a pretty good impression of the announcers...<br /><br />We are both the kind of people that love making lists/charts/graphs, so we thought it very appropriate to make our own World Cup bracket for the fridge! I colored the little flags and we can move them around with magnets.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSEhiIcjPHSPBQhj4txfZX1kk8VZgYMvRqWBFkOkb1aVsZ4LxeyjCtc9ThKQKJYNy10hH-RH_Y4fk2XcVI3-wn9ZMba_V8F4-HrS1CJu443girLHbe8STFnfUKMEOEKQ9BtP19eb3FDTc/s1600/WorldCup2010Fridge.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 225px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSEhiIcjPHSPBQhj4txfZX1kk8VZgYMvRqWBFkOkb1aVsZ4LxeyjCtc9ThKQKJYNy10hH-RH_Y4fk2XcVI3-wn9ZMba_V8F4-HrS1CJu443girLHbe8STFnfUKMEOEKQ9BtP19eb3FDTc/s400/WorldCup2010Fridge.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5487960601875722626" border="0" /></a>In other events for the day, our Bishop's Mitre cactus just blossomed for the upteenth time this season. We think it actually has some kind of fruit growing on it now... Amazing!! Today was hands-down the most beautiful display of blossoms. I was given the option of getting an ultrasound to check up on his growth (she said it wasn't totally necessary because I was only a centimeter or two small and he could just be using up his space very effectively.) I decided "why not!? Let's have one last peek at James before he comes!!!"<br />We were amazed to find out that he is indeed curled up well, because the ultrasound technician estimated his weight at about 7 POUNDS 4 OZ!!! I still have people telling me that I look so small to them, and I still don't feel like I had imagined I would at this point. It's really hard to believe I have a creature bigger than Jasmine (the chihuahua) inside me!<br />Apparently 7 pounds is a perfectly normal weight for his age, and his spine, leg bones, stomach, bladder and head all looked great. We weren't able to do a confirmation check of his boy-ness because he was quite curled up, but we don't mind.<br />Here are some pictures from the event:<br /><br />His profile- you can see his lips are all squished up by his nose. He's really packed in there! <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-2HfccFi27LXsYoxK1_8F2U28dJNE85wdGTW__7UcVnAkQT31eZAGLyBmV4ZxbFoxrX_vVdE1lbOe_XE3ZHyL91qSM0USqGxgrfYsNsGptgi1fGvAAf3rr-l0uM2hGbDxTaavYU2KgEk/s1600/James37weekprofile2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 349px; height: 264px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-2HfccFi27LXsYoxK1_8F2U28dJNE85wdGTW__7UcVnAkQT31eZAGLyBmV4ZxbFoxrX_vVdE1lbOe_XE3ZHyL91qSM0USqGxgrfYsNsGptgi1fGvAAf3rr-l0uM2hGbDxTaavYU2KgEk/s400/James37weekprofile2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482401235057440770" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj57hEiqOunyNtAhBfBR1AxlWzV21-T3RFiA9kQDJNnhCzaFfMKeLR5OK9KcsRHAD2oRi2tydHEqzUMmNGbLET131CTUyxYYDpS1rnvfgFSoFWV0MzuJ1r6p-34pADvCUn3jSxHtbu9vY0/s1600/James37weekprofile1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 351px; height: 263px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj57hEiqOunyNtAhBfBR1AxlWzV21-T3RFiA9kQDJNnhCzaFfMKeLR5OK9KcsRHAD2oRi2tydHEqzUMmNGbLET131CTUyxYYDpS1rnvfgFSoFWV0MzuJ1r6p-34pADvCUn3jSxHtbu9vY0/s400/James37weekprofile1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482401222846311042" border="0" /></a><br />This one is a little hard to decipher- it is looking straight at his face. The little whitish hill in the middle of the picture is his fat cheek, and you can see his eyes, nose, mouth and forehead as well.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQiRdaPCcqcq23ViPH2d9D6tDqCsrcTnshs5HT6g9wpuDfX8kGOmDX_8Ewzyg9T3En6qNva1hItAdYESB9Vz4dmH7nHwwFxqkq5WtHHX2zuIPqpctxrh_WvpbzOBQancCGoLGU_kfdxug/s1600/James37weekface.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 349px; height: 259px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQiRdaPCcqcq23ViPH2d9D6tDqCsrcTnshs5HT6g9wpuDfX8kGOmDX_8Ewzyg9T3En6qNva1hItAdYESB9Vz4dmH7nHwwFxqkq5WtHHX2zuIPqpctxrh_WvpbzOBQancCGoLGU_kfdxug/s400/James37weekface.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482401215541136498" border="0" /></a><br />A personal favorite- looking up his nose! I'm really not sure how she got this shot, but it sure is interesting! The big dark rectangle is his mouth and the triangle above that is his nose. <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFjWKeG7Y-I7s0OPgS2ASEJR30kR4SLZOnNALMmMdxq2GOHzjYmCW-I_p8o-_DWscQWV2NCwo_iNZ-eLF5tX2Wcqx0c8F2YrKIz9T7-qxLw3u_RMECM-csDNbd9P6KKFhWP7G0YJxVEEg/s1600/James37weeknoselips.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 351px; height: 261px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFjWKeG7Y-I7s0OPgS2ASEJR30kR4SLZOnNALMmMdxq2GOHzjYmCW-I_p8o-_DWscQWV2NCwo_iNZ-eLF5tX2Wcqx0c8F2YrKIz9T7-qxLw3u_RMECM-csDNbd9P6KKFhWP7G0YJxVEEg/s400/James37weeknoselips.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482401218723232722" border="0" /></a><br />We were blessed to find out that James is head-down and spine-up, so if he stays that way it might mean a less painful birthing experience for me because his spine won't be pressing on mine. Meanwhile, he still just loves to stretch his feet out near my hip and step on a certain nerve- OH BOY does it pinch!!! Sometimes I'll just be sitting quietly and then gasp out loud from the surprising shock of him stretching, and then he'll step off the nerve and immediately the pain will be gone. The ultrasound technician did say we should expect a long baby- I feel a little bad for him, he just wants to stretch his legs!!<br />As for my measuring small, she said it was due to the amniotic fluid volume decreasing, which is very normal at the end of pregnancy and actually helps the baby come down by letting him feel the pull of gravity a little more than he would when surrounded by liquid.<br /><br />At my 37 week appointment (the day after the ultrasound) my belly was just the right size (I really think he gained some weight within that week) and James' heartbeat was around 125bpm. Definitely down from the 160+ bpm it was when he was just a wee shrimp. Amazing!<br /><br />As of the start of the 37th week, babies are considered "full term," so if he decides to come out any time soon, we are ready! The birth-day bag is packed, the car seat is installed, and his drawers are full of all the things he could ever need as a newborn (we hope.) We are so grateful for the help our friends and family have given at baby showers.<br /><br />And now... the waiting game begins. You can do it, James! You're a champ!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
